B+ Great for it's age; Timothy tends to slide lower in a lot of songs, interesting to hear.

March 30, 1989; 1NT (Los Angeles)
Norman Large (u/s), Dale Kristien, Steve Barton
Highlights. Only known recording of Large in title role - includes rare performance of the Graveyard trio in a US production.

April 29, 1990; 1NT (Los Angeles)

Michael Crawford, Dale Kristien, Reece Holland
A+ Michael Crawford's last performance. Soundboard, perhaps. What a perfect cast, perfect recording, such an appreciative audience. Dale's ToM is magnificent, Crawford's last note in AIAOY (Reprise) is stellar. Goosebumps throughout!

May 31, 1990; Los Angeles
Robert Guillame, Jani Neuman (u/s), Reece Holland
B-, Highlights only, some strange cuts.
Robert has a wonderful voice, and his emotions are palpable. Music of the Night is beautiful. Jani has a strong vibrato, very in the vein of Sarah Brightman. A pleasure to listen to.

September 26, 1990; Broadway
Steve Barton, Rebecca Luker, Gary Lindemann (u/s), Marilyn Caskey, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Leila Martin
A++ This still rates as one of the best recordings and the only one I'd venture is truly a soundboard recording. Steve Barton is a heart breaking Phantom.

Jeff Keller (Phantom), Rebecca Luker (Christine), Kevin Gray (Raoul)

1991; London
Peter Polycarpou, Shona Lindsay, John Barrowman

January 02, 1991; Broadway
Kevin Gray (Phantom), Karen Culliver (Christine), Hugh Panaro (Raoul), Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Lelia Martin
B Hugh is one heck of a dreamy Raoul. Not a fan of Kevin.

January 31, 1991; 1NT (Los Angeles)
Joseph Dellger (u/s), Dale Kristian, Michael Piontek
Highlights, about 45 minutes

March 17, 1991; Toronto (NFT)
Colm Wilkinson, Susan Cuthbert, Byron Nease, Paul Massel, Gregory Cross, Lyse Guerin, Kristine Marie Guiguet, Peter Cormican, Donna Rubin
Received it under the date 1989 but have never seen a recording of that year from the Toronto production, also sometimes listed as Feb 29, 1992. Definitely Colm, but has been listed as Mary D'Arcy, Glenda Balkan and Teresa DeZarn.
A Votes are for Rebecca, Teresa and the original alternate Christine, Susan Cuthbert. Patrons that have seen Susan say this is definitely an audio of her.

September 22, 1991; Japan (Osaka)
Eiji Akutogawa, Kyoko Suzuki, Kanji Ishimaru
A line of MOTN missing (tape flip), and a portion during 'Track Down this Murderer'

October 28, 1991; Broadway

Peter Polycarpou, Shona Lindsay, John Barrowman, Michael Bauer, Julie Goss, Sally Smith

December 29, 1991; US Tour (Denver)
Randal Keith, Sara Pfisterer, Nat Chandler
B A beautiful cast from the first tour

March 18, 1992; London
James Graeme, Lisa Hull, John Barrowman, Michael Bauer, Tom McVeigh, Julia Gross, Ramon Remedios
A audio is slightly thrown to the right, seems to start at TOM. Lisa has an extremely high pitched voice, her and John are a lark to listen to. James' voice is on the softer side. This is the timid version of PoTo.

Shuler Hensley, Colby Thomas, Ray Gabbard
A+ Perfect recording, my introduction foreign language Phantom! Cast is supremely talented, an absolute pleasure to listen to

1997; Toronto, Canada
Ciaran Sheehan, Glenda Balkan, Laird Macintosh

February 01 1997; Toronto
Laird Mackintosh (u/s), Teresa DeZarn, Brian Duyn (u/s)
Trader's note:The only audio of Mackintosh as the Phantom. A sloppy transfer to CD--very muffled and skewed to the left. Very hissy. It's been considered that this is actually Ciaran Sheehan but I've done some comparisons and I'm certain it's Laird. It's odd to hear him as the Phantom after hearing him as Raoul in the Paul Stanley recordings, but I like him in the role. Teresa is fabulous, one of the best voices ever to sing the role of Christine. A couple of dropouts in the latter half of Act II--one at the end of PONR, two in the FL where there's a few seconds of dead air before it comes back in.
This used to be listed as Glenda Balkan, but has been listed as Teresa by someone who was there. Of course, Ethan Freeman was also listed as the Phantom this day

February 04, 1997; London
Simon Bowman, Megan Kelly (alt), Alasdair Harvey, Jasna Ivir, Mark Wynter, Ian Platt, Evette Davis, Richard Braebrook, Amanda Light
B+ clear but clicking (read: wheels of a cassette turning) present throughout quiet times, which is a shame as Megan gives a wonderful performance. Simon plays vocal gymnastics, fell in love with his Phantom.

Craig Shulman (Phantom), Sandra Joseph (Christine), Lawrence Anderson (Raoul), Patricia Hurd (Carlotta), Ion Jon Bourg (Andre), TJ Meyers (Firmin), Olga Talyn (Mme. Giry), Don Cook (Piangi), Jennifer Dawn Stillings (Meg Giry)
A I adore Sandra Joseph her in this recording

December 06, 1997; Toronto
Peter Karrie, Elizabeth DeGrazia, Kip Wilborn
Trader's notes: Originally analog but transferred and digitally cleaned-up beautifully. No residual hiss, but instead the sound is rather deep and echo-y, as if recorded in a sports stadium. No overload on any of the loud notes. A Beautiful audio of Karrie and Elizabeth, who SHINE in this recording!

Kip Wilborn (u/s), Glenda Balkan (alt), Brian Duyn (u/s), Kim Stengel, Terry Hodges, Kevin McGuire, Catherine Duff (u/s), Brent Weber, Catriona Ferguson
Trader's notes: Originally analog with some hiss, and you can hear the tapeheads rotating throughout. Kip is excellent, he has a lovely voice and exudes power, although he's a bit harsh sometimes. He really goes insane in the Final Lair, which I personally liked. Glenda has a gorgeous voice as well. Kip would have made a great principal; he sounds great here.

9th Anniversary
(Christopher Groendaal, Ciaran Sheehan, Jeff Hyslop, Ethan Freeman, Peter Karrie), Elizabeth deGrazia, David Rogers, Kevin McGuire, Terry Hodges, Kim Stengel, Kristina Marie Guiguet, Brent Weber, Catriona Derguson.
Five different Phantoms each perform different parts of the show, all of them taking a line during 'Seal My Fate'. At the end, the entire cast comes together to sing 'Music Of The Night'.
Ethan Freeman was the current Phantom, Elizabeth was the alt. Christine
A- Clear, but soft. Elizabeth has a beautiful lilt to her voice, and I believe this is one of the only recordings of Ciaran who is divine! Tracks include which Phantom performs during each song.

One of Scott Davies' first performances as principal Phantom; rare audio in that there is a full mirror break down where the show had to be stopped temporarily whilst it was removed off the stage.
